February Blues?

My best friend has been teaching her kiddos for years.

She warns me that every February these things happen-
~we lose the confidence to do it all
~we dream of hiring a tutor
~we are OVER it all

She also swears that by April the excitement of next year is thrilling and we'll be buying materials with a new passion.

Any thoughts?

February Blues, huh? And here I thought it was hormones!!! We always seem to go through a rut in February. I like to blame it on the weather. We are in desperate need of consistant spring weather and plenty of park days with our friends. To combat this have been having a very relaxed approach lately...trips to the museums, hanging out at they library, reviewing for standardized testing (ugh!), and retail therapy (spending too much time and money at Target). My dd and I have been looking through the curriculum catalogs that fill our mailbox every week or so. We both get excited about planning for next year (or maybe it is just the shopping part!).

I thought it was just me! Good to know I'm not the only one fighting the blues (not to mention the blahs).

I think February is just a blue month over all anyway. We're tired of winter, the days are short and cold, and bugs are going around making everyone sick.

At least that's how it is in my house. :)

I used to say that February was the longest month of the year....can you imagine if it had a full 30 or 31 days?

Yes, the February Blues. It's the weather and the flu buggies and cabin fever and the Feb. school slump when motivation, everyone's motivation, hits rock bottom.
We are fighting it pretty hard right now- as my oldest is also trying to write her first research paper (this should NOT be done in February! What was I thinking?!) and it is extremely busy right now with my job as youth director at church---- we are gearing up for a 2 day event this weekend and the logistics of taking 16 junior highers is practically destroying any sanity I may have left.
I just keep telling myself- just get thru this weekend. Just get thru this weekend.
Hey- then it will be March!

I'm so glad to read that others are going through the same thing that we are. It doesn't help that our family has been battling sickness in some form or another since right after New Years, either. We haven't been able to accomplish much of ANYTHING this year.
