I am your typical homeschooling mom of 5 children, including 3-year-old twins we adopted from Ethiopia. In other words, I am me. If you want to find out more about me, I'm all over my blog.
How Long have you homeschooled?
7 years
What ages are your children?
14, 12, 8, 3, 3
What Homeschool theory do you ascribe to?
Whatever works. We are currently educating with a modified classical approach.
What is your primary goal in Homeschooling your kids?
There are many primary goals. First, I want their hearts to be turned to God, to the church, to family before anything else. I want them to have a chance to develop who they are, apart from a lot of the peer pressure and other negative influences present in government schools. I want them to love learning and to learn how to learn when Mom is no longer over them with the whip. ;-) And I want to be the influence on them, not other people, no matter how wonderful they can be.
What is your greatest challenge with Homeschooling?
Twins who are not in school yet. Love 'em, but school was a lot easier before they came home.
What a beautiful family! The twins are adorable. I know you will all grow and change over the next few years as they learn from you - and you from them!
Hi Lori, its nice to "meet" you. Your family is beautiful.I also have "twins"....one came by birth and one by adoption 10 weeks later. They are both 2, and yes, I agree, homeschooling was much more "boring" before they came! Congratulations of the homecoming of your twins. We have dear homeschooling friends and neighbors who brought home their 3 children from LIberia just 9 months ago. It was wonderful to be a part of their support network. Its awesome what God has done in their family. You can see her blog here: www.hisgracehisglory.blogspot.com.

I have definitely discovered that to be true. I started blogging about a year ago, and in the past year I have been so blessed to find people from "all over" with whom I can relate to in some way!
I love using tools like the Internet for good!! What a blessing!
I should mention that I loved my MIL but she was a very opinionated lady.
I think the hardest part about responding to doubting people is trying to discern their motivation for asking.

It affords you so many varied opportunities to fail. I mean, to persevere. Yes, that was what I meant."
Just that one simple entry made my day today! I can so identify, and it really got a great chuckle out of me!
I share many of your same homeschooling goals too.
Nice to meet you.
Blessings,
Janet
